Course Design Committee New York
Each year, our course design committee includes a top pro skateboarder who works with the experts at California Skateparks to design the street courses for the competition. For our first-ever New York contest, we brought in legendary NYC skateboarding advocate and owner of 5Boro, Steve Rodriguez, and Pro Skater Geoff Rowley to create a competition course featuring replicas and near replicas of popular skate spots from each of the five boroughs. Located in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens, the course will be donated to the City as a permanent skatepark after the MMC contest. Vert Design Orange County
The 2009 Maloof Money Cup Carl’s Jr. Pro Vert Championship featured the first ever mini mega ramp with a 20-ft gap into a unique vert ramp. Conceived of by pro skaters Bob Burnquist, Jake Brown and 2008 MMC vert champ Pierre Luc Gagnon (PLG), it featured a rainbow rail and was divided into sections for the competition format. This year, Bucky Lasek and Rune Glifberg have been tapped to design the 2010 Vert Ramp along with PLG and Bob Burnquist. MMC is dedicated to push the progression in skateboarding and this year the pros have really come up with a next level ramp that will be more entertaining and challenging than any other vert ramp in history. Details will be released soon.
