About The Maloof Money Cup
The Maloof Money Cup, presented by Vans, is the world’s premiere showcase for amateur and professional skateboarding. In 2010, MMC expanded to Queens, New York, building a world-class skatepark that was donated to the community after the contest. MMC returns to Orange County for a third straight year August 4-8 (during the 2010 OC Fair) and will award nearly $450,000 in cash and prizes in four professional U.S. championship competitions: the VOLCOM Street Pro, Women’s Pro Street, Carl’s Jr. Pro Vert Championships and the World Industries Amateur Championships. Tickets are on sale now at all Ticketmaster locations or at the OC Fair & Event Center Box Office at the Pacific Amphitheatre.

Check this little interview with Friday night's top qualifier Torey Pudwill.
On Thursday night, Transworld Skateboarding brought in a Last Chance qualifier for the street contest. Basically this was for all the skaters who didn't get into the contest through the voting system, but still wanted a chance to make it in... Fabrizio Santos and Rodolfo Ramos were killing it and ended up in the top five. Local ripper Tyler Hendley has been making a name for himself on the big stage lately, and killed it, just missing the two cut and ending up third. The top two will both make it into the Maloof Money Cup and will skate on Friday and Saturday, and hopefully Sunday. Jereme Rogers skated pretty damn amazing, testament hands and all, and won the qualifier, and Chris Haslam made the bubble edge work in his favor, ending in second. Stay tuned for more of these guys in the main event tomorrow.
Our crew is out there watching all the action, being the blog nerds that we are... why aren't you here? If you're in SoCal, tickets are avialable, just come to the OC Super Fair at the Orange County Fairgrounds. And you can probably get a great Southwest Airlines flight no matter where you are to John Wayne airport. Hee-haw! We're about three miles away.
For now, check all these new videos from Mark, Bucky, and Chinner on-site at the contest!
