There have been operas, concerts, ballets and even comedy events held in movie theaters.

What’s next? Skateboarding!

The Maloof Money Cup World Skateboarding Championships will be screened in theaters Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 7:30 p.m.

The event, which will be held in South Africa Sept. 28 and 29, will include behind-the-scenes footage, competition highlights and more. Skaters participating include Colin Provost, Brian “Slash” Hanson, Theotis Beasley, Manny Santiago and Corey Duffel.

A special skate park was built in South Africa just for the event last year. It was inspired by the Kimberley diamond mine.

Local area theaters screening the film include the AMC Ontario Mills 30, AMC Galleria at Tyler 16, AMC Victoria Gardens Mall 12 and Regal Temecula 15.

Tickets are on sale now and are $12.50.
