Introduction The event started at 10:00 am where Dj … started off things with a nice dance music 1hr set. That set the tone for onlookers and people who were going to do shopping to have an interest in what was taking place. The Boogaloos crew and Northern Cape Tourism Authority marketing staff ensured that the whole perimeter was fully branded with the Maloof branding. Wandile from Funisu and Skullcandy and Warrick started off by showing young girls and boys on how to skateboard and all the safety elements of skateboarding. By 12:00 pm the event was really starting to pick up, more and more young skateboarders came to the small skatepark that was set up for the day. There were 20 young skateboarders from all racers by that time.
Ticket options that inculde the Lil Jon Concert are as follows and will be going on sale within the next week. More updates on this will be posted next week...

Boogaloos & Maloof Money Cup event at the Boogaloos Skate Park

Boogaloos & Maloof Money Cup event at the Boogaloos Sakte Park at Stoneridge Centre on Saturday 21 May 10 – 5pm.
This biggest skateboarding event in the world is coming to Kimberley in September. The event is an initiative of the Northern Cape Province and part of a national outreach program focused on "Skateboarding for Hope" and the upliftment of underprivileged youth and communities, as well as the transfer of skills. The Northern Cape Province is building a world class skatepark in Kimberley to facilitate the event.
The purpose of the event at Stoneridge is to promote the event, but also to inspire, positively influence and encourage, especially the underprivileged kids to participate and take up the sport of skateboarding. Many kids from underprivileged backgrounds will have the opportunity on Saturday to enjoy a fun day at the Stomeridge Boogaloos Skate Park.

On Saturday 16 July 2011, an amateur competition took place at 14h00. Amateur skaters participated in a competition to win a Element skateboards and t-shirts ( MMC, Boogaloos and Element t-shirts). The other competition took place at 16h00; in this category the beginner skaters took part in the competition. The prize give-away for first prize was : Elements and a Vans’ belt, t-shirts were also given to audience during the event.
