So, I’m not much of a long boarder, but I have a serious passion for all board sports!

This short video of a girls boarding crew skating the streets of Madrid, Spain. It got me so hyped to skate, purely because of their insane style and finesse.

Ever since I’ve know Charl he’s been one of the main guys involved with running SonSk8 Stellenbosch.
Over the past 3 years or so, I’ve had the privilege of watching him develop into a super mini-ramp killer and tranny embracer. He’s a great friend of mine, a humble man and skater with natural style and flow – so much flow in fact that if you’re not careful he’ll come and show you how to skate your own ramp!

The 19th of February sees the V&A Waterfront play host to the Ultimate X event, 2011.

ABSA Life Xtreme presents Ultimate X 2011, Cape Town’s largest extreme sports lifestyle
event bringing the adrenalin and excitement of extreme sports to over 2,000 spectators in an
urban environment. On Sat February 19 2011, the V&A Gateway Canal events site will be
transformed into an extreme sporting paradise as SA’s top athletes migrate to the Mother
City to compete for Xtreme gold. Burning rubber, searing adrenalin, high jumps & sunshine will create an unrivalled vibe in the Mother City.

The Event Details are as follows;
Date: 19th February 2011
Time: 12:00 noon – 8:00pm
Venue: Gateway Canal Event Site, V & A Waterfront (across from Audi)
Tickets: R80 online at Webtickets or at the door (free entrance to Ultimate

Deciplines include;

BMX - Dirt / Kicker set up with Awesome Roll in tower
Skate – adidas Originals Street and Mini ramp set up
FMX (freestyle motocross bikes)- Huge Air on mobile rigs
Wakeboarding- Full wake course set up in the water of the V&A canals!!

Canarvon is a small dessert town on the diamond route between Kimberley and Cape Town. Just like most dessert towns, it is vulnerable to flooding and with potential water damage comes good drainage ditches. With all this concrete comes a lot of potential skate spots so we thought it best to stop over and handout 200 skateboards to the towns youths so they may set out to explore their ditches and hopefully call us one day to tell us where to come back and play.
